All staff are hand picked for what they can individually and as part of a team, bring to Smileys.
Each room is lead by a qualified caregiver and supported by assistant caregivers. Smileys has a long term staffing plan ensuring consistency and quality care. All team members hold relevant diplomas, Certificates, Police Clearances and First Aid Certificates.
Programs
To cater for your child’s developmental needs we program for all children in care. All Smileys programs support you child's growth in developmental areas such as language, physical, cognition, social and emotional, as well as constant reviews of routine times and plenty of art and crafts.
For 31/2 + age group we run a kindy program call "Fun2Learn". This programs builds on to our standard program, with early Literacy and Concept Development skills to give your child a smooth transition and head start at school.
Computers
With computer now becoming a essential part of life Smileys has set up a special room with 5 computers, which enables group of 5 to 10 children to use these at any time. All our computer software is educational, focusing on alphabet, colours, shapes, animals, numbers and body parts.
Children from as young as 3 will learn simple mouse skills, through to School aged children who can use the computers to do homework.
Meals
Our resident food co-ordinator holds a certificate in Food handling and Preparation for Childcare (Eat Right- Start Right).
We have nutritionally balanced menus that rotate following the seasons and incorporate al the different food groups (Meat, Fish, Diary and Vegetables).
We appreciate suggestions on new meal ideas and will try to include these in our new menu’s.
Before and After School Care
Smileys run a Before and After School Care Program along with a Vacation Care program on the School Holidays. We drop off and pick up from a variety of schools in the surrounding area. Spots in this program are very limited, for availability of spots and school we attend please contact us.
